I rode this route of just under 190 miles in the summer of 2019. It’s a superb foray into the south of Snowdonia National Park taking in some incredible scenery and fantastic roads. The route starts and ends at Aberystwyth with fast flowing A roads and includes some breath-taking B roads further into the route which throw in big changes in elevation, tight hairpins and panoramic views up past Bala and LLanfyllin. There are also some stretches over the highest peaks of this route of single track roads. You might even spot some low flying jets at the famous Mach Loop section. Options for food, drinks and fuel are not plentiful, but there are some small, friendly places highlighted.
