Oregon Coast from Portland to Newport
We start this route in the city of Portland, the largest city in the State of Oregon.
The route offers the challenge of busy urban streets in Portland, twisty mountain roads through the Tillamook State Forest, and spectacular ocean views along the easy-riding Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy. 101).
The route passes through the town of Depoe Bay which is a great spot to stop, stretch your legs, have a bite to eat, and take in the sights.
The final destination on the route is Newport, which is home to the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. It's well worth setting aside a few hours to visit this beautiful coastal spot.
